How do I update my Dr. Dish software?

Please follow the steps below to ensure your Dr. Dish updates.

To receive any software updates on your Dr. Dish, you need a strong internet connection. Please follow the steps below to verify your connection is stable.

Dr. Dish CT+, All-Star+, Rebel+, FCLTY, and CT

  1. Can you log into your machine with your phone number? 
  2. Can you play a video?
  3. Are the bars next to the WiFi at least ⅔ full?
  4. After you have a strong internet, reboot the Dr. Dish and, if an update is available, it will update automatically!
  5. Check under More → About → Software Version to verify the software version

Dr. Dish Home

The Dr. Dish Home and Home 2, utilize the Dr. Dish Player App on a customer-provided mobile device for its control and software interface.


On an Android device, you may have auto-update for the app turned on or you may not. To verify if an update is available open the Google Play Store and search "Dr. Dish Player App". If an update is available the button to the right of the App's icon will say "Update". If there is no update available, the button will say "Open".

On an iOS device, the Dr. Dish Player App will update automatically as per your device's settings.
